Session Details

How long should I expect my session to last?
Sessions typically take between 1-2 hours.  Please allow an extra hour for newborn shoots.  I want your session to be as relaxed and fun as possible, so there is never a rush on my part.  I want to make sure that I get the best possible photographs for your collection.

Where should we do the shoot?
I am primarly an on location natural light photographer.  I will travel to the location you choose whether it be your home, a park, the beach or some other special location for you.  I do have a portable studio which I can bring with me if you want traditional studio portraits.  If you need help choosing a location I do have several suggestions for places around Squamish, B.C..  Please feel free to ask and we can discuss your needs and options.

When should we book our newborn session?
Newborns are best photographed in their first two weeks.  Please contact me as soon as possible to get those precious shots of your new little one.

What time of day should I book my shoot for?
You know your child better than anyone else so try to book a time when they are typically at thier happiest.  Please keep in mind that outdoor sessions are best done in early morning or late afternoon/early evening, to avoid harsh lighting from the sun.

What should we wear to the shoot?
Solid colours work best with no strong logos, writing or designs to detract from the face.  We want to focus of the picture to remain on the person not what they are wearing.
For family portraits try to wear outfits that compliment each other.  That doesn’t mean you have to all be dressed the same though.  Jeans and Khaki’s looked very nice photographed together.
For newborn portraits it is best for them to be nude.  If you don’t want nude portraits then just a diaper or onesie works great.
Please remember that these are only suggestions and you should wear whatever you feel will represent you and your children the best.  Feel free to bring multiple wardrobe changes for different photos.

When will I get my photographs?
I will contact you with in 1-2 weeks after your session with a link to a password protected online viewing gallery.  We will then set up a telephone or in person appointment where I will answer any questions you have and you can order your prints.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me through the contact page and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
